The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has released the complete payment timetable for the month of February in the year 2026. The first week of the month will see social grant payments distributed through a standard staggered system that reduces crowding to achieve better distribution results. The Older Persons Grant and War Veterans Grant will be paid on Tuesday, 3 February 2026.
The Disability Grant will be distributed on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, and all other grants including the Child Support Grant and Foster Care Grant will be paid on Thursday, 5 February 2026. The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) R370 grant will be processed separately later in the month, with payments expected between 21 and 28 February 2026, depending on individual approval and bank processing timelines.
Grant Amounts for February 2026
The SASSA grant amounts for February 2026 will stay the same as they were established during the last increase which occurred in late 2025. The Older Persons Grant provides R2,315 to beneficiaries aged 60 to 74 years while beneficiaries aged 75 and older receive R2,335. The Disability Grant and War Veterans Grant currently provide R2,315 to recipients, and the Child Support Grant offers R560 for each child. The Foster Care Grant will continue at R1,250 per child, and the SRD grant remains R370 per month.
Why SASSA Uses Staggered Payment Dates
The staggered payment system that SASSA employs helps to reduce pay point and retail outlet queue delays. The approach enhances safety while decreasing crowding and guarantees that elderly citizens who need assistance receive their funds first. The designated date allows beneficiaries to access their funds through bank accounts, SASSA cards, and retail withdrawal options.
How to Check Your Payment Status
Recipients must check their grant status through online systems or official SASSA channels to determine their precise payment time. SRD recipients must confirm their approval status because payment processing occurs in scheduled batches which differ from one case to another.
Important Tips for Beneficiaries
Beneficiaries must confirm their banking information because any mistakes will cause payment delays. SASSA advises recipients against withdrawing money on their first day unless they require it because their funds will stay accessible in their accounts. The public should report all delays or problems through official SASSA support channels.
