SASSA March 2026 Payments: When Grants Will Be Paid And How Much You’ll Get

The Social Security Agency in South Africa has announced the March 2026 payment dates and the corresponding grant amounts which beneficiaries can use to plan their future financial needs. The payment schedule functions as a fundamental resource which South Africans require to manage their financial affairs because the monthly social grant payments serve as necessary financial assistance for their essential needs. The monthly payment cycle will begin with the first week of March as its scheduled time for payments to start.

March 2026 SASSA Payment Dates

SASSA will start distributing grant payments during the first week of March 2026. The payment for Older Persons Grants will occur on Tuesday 3 March 2026 while Disability Grants will be paid on Wednesday 4 March 2026. The payment of Children’s Grants which includes Child Support and Foster Care Grants will take place on Thursday, 5 March 2026.

The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant will be processed later in the month, with payments typically released in batches from around the last week of March. Beneficiaries can check their exact payment date by looking at their payment status online.

Confirmed SASSA Grant Amounts for 2026

The March 2026 grant amounts will match the previous month payments because the late 2025 increases established the new payment levels. Beneficiaries aged 60 to 74 will receive R2,315 per month, while those aged 75 and older will receive R2,335. The Disability, War Veterans, and Care Dependency Grants will all make payments of R2,315 to recipients.

Families receiving the Child Support Grant will receive R560 per child, and Foster Care Grant recipients will receive R1,250. The SRD grant will proceed with a monthly payment rate of R370.

How Beneficiary Will Receive Their Payment

Beneficiaries Will Get Their Payments Through Different Payment Methods Which Include Bank Accounts And Authorized Payment Locations And Retail Payment Partners. Beneficiaries have funds accessible in their accounts because payment distribution has occurred, which eliminates the need for immediate cash withdrawal. The system decreases payment location crowding, which creates better safety conditions for people who receive payments.
