WildernessWilderness is only 14 Kilometres away from George on the main road between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth in the heart of the famous Garden Route. Its long outstretched white sand beaches of 18 kilometre offers the visitor excellent swimming opportunities. Wilderness offers much to see with all its lakes, estuaries, rivers and beaches all set against the lush growth of forests and the Outeniqua Mountains. It is a must to visit the world famous Kaaimans River Bridge where you can watch the steam train crossing the bridge.
There is also the Wilderness Art Route where one can visit working art studios of crafts such as leather wall hangings, ornaments, porcelain dolls, pottery, paintings, kiddie�s toys and clothes, jewellery and furniture. Amongst all these studios you will also find numerous eating places There are hiking trails which wind through dense forests and along tranquil rivers. Here you will encounter the beautiful Knysna Lourie. Wilderness has a temporal coastal climate where it can rain right through the year with the highest rainfall measured during September and October.
